Small BES setup (2 users), I'm the admin. Hooked to exchange and outlook 2003.

Everything works great. I have outlook client grabbing 2 pop accounts and they sync to BB. I have a hotmail account that does NOT sync. I've installed the hotmail plugin into outlook (which is where I think the problem lies).

What methods can I use to pull hotmail into outlook (which is the only place I need it) and get it sync'd to my BB?

With ISP's changing yearly (patmedia.net, comcast.net, verizon.net) my Hotmail account seems to be the only thing that stay around very long. Now I'm moving all my important non-business communications to hotmail and will just keep them there forever.

hotmail is very limited when it comes to forwarding etc. That' s why I decided to use gmail and get rid of all other accounts(hotmail, yahoo, provider's emails etc.) . Gmail will let you do all that and more. I know this might not help you but was thinking if you had considered using gmail instead? In that case you have several options available to you and also big mailbox 7.5 GB. You can't really sync hotmail unless it ends up in your exchange mailbox. Hope someone else is using it and can help more.
I am not huge fan of having third party doing forwarding (cause you need to provide user name and passwords etc) but if you are ok with that you may try this:

From past experience, hotmail-forwarding will only work if you pay for the service. If the account was created before 2004 (I think), it will work for free too. Onc ethe paid-for service is set up, use your normal BIS setup to forward mail to the device.

I know, I would have liked it for free too, but didn't trust the 3rd-party stuff out there.

For the Best chance of success, I would make sure that the hotmail account in question is the paid version. It's only $20/yr (~$1.67/mo) and it more or less guarantees 100%success when integrating Hotmail with BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service).

Like you, I have had the same hotmail address for a long time. Call me weird, but I actually like hotmail more than GMail (if that is possible). I've been using hotmail with BIS ever since the switchover from BWC to BIS years ago. Hotmail seems to advertise 5 and 10GB quotas, but they don't seem to enforce them, at least not for the paid accounts (IME). I think Yahoo Mail (Y!) is the same now where either they advertise no quota, or they don't really enforce one (assuming you're not abusing the system!).

Yahoo and Gmail are definitely documented to have quicker push email delivery (or at least the polling interval is smaller) in case that is important to you. Otherwise, paid hotmail works OK.

I have my free hotmail email setup as a regular BIS account - works great.

I tried it too and works also, but I have my hotmail for almost 15 years now so not sure.
