Default Java on BES

Please Login to Remove!

So my network Admin has asked the question of the requirement of JAVA on the BES. Since I am not the one who origionally instaled the BES, I do not have this answer off the tp of my head. I have heard from another user that the latest release of JAVA is causing issues. Can anyone verify this, as well of why JAVA is required on the BES? Thanks.

I never upgraded it.

Javaź Runtime Environment (JRExxx8482;) is used for certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server functions; therefore, a version of JRE is included with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. A Daylight Saving Time (DST) update for Java is available. The DST update for Java is not required for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server because Java is not used for any time zone or related information.

Use the version of Java that is included in the BES installation files.
Turn off auto-updates so it never updates to a newer version.
