| Moving Configuration DB to SQL Please Login to Remove! Hi all. Last night I tried moving our configuration db from the local BES server (single server install) to our remote SQL 2005 x64 server.
I followed the instructions on the following page.
w w w. blackberryforums.com /bes-admin-corner/10406-howto-migrate-msde2k-sql2k-database-new-server.html
(can't post links yet)
BES 4.1.6 on Server 2003 R2. SQL 2005 x64 is installed on Server 2003 x64.
The backup of my MSDE went fine. I copied the file over, created the new db from the BB Server Configuration, restored over the top of the db with my .BAK file and pointed the BES to the db on the SQL server. It connects, connection is fine, sees my SRP and all that and starts the services.
After that is where I expirienced problems. No users would update. I would let the BES sit, and none of my users would communicate with the server. Restarted services, the entire server, and both the server and the SQL server.
Once I pointed the BES back to the local MSDE instance, users would start connecting immediately.
I tried 3 different backups of the local MSDE, and imported into a few different times.
My BESAdmin account has dbcreator, public, sysadmin and serveradmin roles. BESAdmin is also a local admin on the sql server. I believe that to be correct, right?
Any help is appreciated.
