Discovered something and just wanna share to avoid hiccups during the BES 5.0 software installation.

If you are using default SQL instance and do not customize to use other than the default port 1433, select static port and set value as 1433.

If you are using a named SQL instance without any further modification to use a specific port, then select dynamic port.

This is because - By default, a named instance of SQL Server listens on a dynamic port. (Source: How to configure an instance of SQL Server to listen on a specific TCP port or a dynamic port)

My experience is that if you have mismatch this settings, then you will not be able to launch the BlackBerry Administration Service webconsole.
