Has anyone ever moved the network they use for their handsets with a BES.

EG: We have a customer who has their own BES server with T-Mobile SIM cards in their handsets, they want to move to Vodafone.

They've been told they need to basically scrap their BES license and buy a new one from Vodafone, this seems mad to me surely all you have to do is get new SIM cards (blackberry enabled) from Vodafone and then re-enterprise activate the handsets once they have the new Vodafone SIM's installed.?

You're correct. They would need to have BES provisioned SIM cards from Vodafone and reactivate. The BES is not carrier specific. We switched from primarily Nextel devices to Verizon devices a few years ago. We have multiple different carriers on our BES.

thanks JSConyers, I was 99.9% certain I was right but we only install via Vodafone (best carrier in the UK for business) so have never had to switch networks before.

I knew it must be right as the BES servers only talk to relay servers (RIM) not the provider directly.
