BES on Domino. What does this error mean? I have found any documentation on the web and maintenance on the state db doesnt seem to do the trick. Eventually causes sever to back log and crash.

Something like, turn off wireless reconcile, delete all folders in state DB except Inbox (?), re-enable wireless sync. Need to make sure with RIM but that is what I remember.

Sorry for the delayed response - I seemed to have lost track of this thread.

OTAFM stands for Over The Air File Managment.
We are a Domino shop. The fix was to open each individual state datbases and delete empty line items. Basically the server is attempting to sychronize folders that are not there. Deleting these line items clears up this. Simple fix. The hard part was pin pointing the problem users. Takes a little time to find the corrupted state databases.

There is a warning message when deleting empty line items - disregard that.

I've had this error start appearing, 3000 of them in the logs yesterday!
I'll give your fix a try.

I have empty lines in lots of views, not just the folders view.
Did you delete ALL empty lines or just those from a specific view?

OK, I have this 0x0404 issue again for one user.

Have tried a Desktop Manager synch of BB to notes, seemed to complete but did not fix problem.
Have tried updall and fixup on user state DB
There are no replication conflicts in state DB
There are no blank lines in state DB

Those are pretty much all the fixes I can find in this forum for 0x0404.

Errors on server keep on coming, such as:

18/01/2008 15:28:53 {User Name/Org} OTAFM: folder info is not found (Entry not found in index 0x0404)
18/01/2008 15:28:53 {User Name/Org} OTAFM: Maximum read/unread checks per work packet reached (200). Re-queueing remaining checks.

Anyone have any other ideas?

This is rebuilding the folder structure for the user's state database.

More informaiton... if a user's mail db was not closed properly due to network issue or some incomplete Domino tasks, folders may be deleted and rebuilt later. As such the state database folder reference is bearing the "OLD" one, hence need to rebuild the folder structure. Below is a good reference
