I'm having an issue with a few users, where they will read an email in outlook and even after 20-30 minutes it shows as unread on the handheld. running BES 4.1.6.16 - issue is happening on 3 curves (all updated with 4.5os)

IF on exchange you can increase the message state size and it will improve it.
Located in BBmanager properties of the server, knot the domain under messaging and tehn performance.

Caution though, because it will use more RAM on the BES.

If only some users, is there commonality between them (same info store if Exchange, geographical location etc). How does the mail server look generally, performance-wsie and communicating with the BES?

Please give us some setup info.

Check the user perms and that they aren't members of the protected groups (and therefore getting perms revoked). Doesn't sound like that but worth checking.
