Question BPS and "RED CROSS" on sending mail (or replying)...

Hi to everybody...

After having used the search function a lot (and having thus read quite a lot), I've come to the conclusion I'm dumb enough not to be able to "do-it-myself".

It happened to me also when I had to install BPS: I had to wait for a setup video to appear on RIM's website to be able to successfully complete the procedure, since I'm not really such an IT expert (while feeling comfortable among IT matters...).

The problem:

[40700] (05/15 18:22:35.933):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} Receiving packet from device, size=154, TransactionId=-1676255375, Tag=8429, content type=CMIME, cmd=0x3
[30112] (05/15 18:22:35.933):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} Receiving message from device, RefId=1181944345, Tag=8429, TransactionId=-1676255375
[20265] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} MAPIMailbox::Send(ppMAPIMessage) - SubmitMessage (0x80070005) failed
[20472] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} Send() failed: ERR_SUBMIT_MAIL, Tag=8429
[40277] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} Sending message error to device for message 1181944345
[40583] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} Sending packet to device, Size=43, Tag=11040, TransactionId=-905080105
[40279] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} SubmitToRelaySendQ, Tag=11040
[40000] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x218C} [BIPP] Send data, Tag=11040
[40279] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} SubmitToRelaySendQ, Tag=8429
[40000] (05/15 18:22:35.979):{0x218C} [BIPP] Send status DATA_ACCEPTED, Tag=8429
[40000] (05/15 18:22:36.292):{0x1F00} [BIPP] Received status DELIVERED, Tag=11040
[40000] (05/15 18:22:36.292):{0x1900} {name@domain.it} FindDeviceSendTransaction: transaction not found in current device send list, Tag=11040

Well, I've come to the conclusion that this user (the only one I have on my BPS, which is the ENTERPRISE TRIAL version, installed on a Win2003 SB Server) is the problem for two main reasons:
- it is me
- it is an Administrator

I've already tried applying what I found here:

KB04707 - Unable to send email messages because Send As permission has been revoked - Port3101.org : Your BES Connection (cannot post links yet...)

but it seems nothing changes, as the log still reports the same problem...

I would like to avoid removing the user from Exchange and no, I cannot make this user a normal user...

Also, since I'm completely on another planet when speaking of ACTIVE DIRECTORY and POLICIES, should you wish to help me, please, take the time to exactly explain me WHICH buttons to press, as really I cannot understand anything about AD and POLICIES... (while having a rough idea...).

The KB article you reference is the solution to your problem.
Since you can't make this a normal user, you'll never get it to work.
A BES user shouldn't be an AD Administrator.

You should really consider changing your account permissions. Running as an administrator full-time is a very bad practice.
This has been discussed many many times in this forum before.

Thank you for your appreciated answer.

I knew my requests are a bad practice and did read some of the previous comments about this: just wanted to investigate if a solution could be found or not...

Said so, I already downgraded my account to normal user and after the needed times, everything started working flawlessy.

Actually I think this information should be sticky as I'm sure there still may be someone around with my same "dumbness" (is this an existing word ?)

Again thank you.
