Default Reconcile Now question - 11-17-2005, 09:48 AM

I am on a BES running 4.0.2.37 with a 7520 and when i delete mail from Outlook and then go to my device and select reconcile now, they emails on my device dont disappear. i have it set to delete messages from mailbox and handheld, wireless reconcile is on and conflicts are set to mailbox wins. I also do not have "empty deleted items on exit" selected...Suggestions?

Are you deleting in Outlook by hitting CTRL+D from the Inbox listing, or deleting multiple emails at once? I have noticed (and others have commented in other threads) that BES doesn't seem to recognize deletes done either of these ways. Seems you have to click Delete from an open email to be sure the BES will recognize it. I just got used to my deletions not reconciling with my device, because I'd rather delete quickly while in Outlook than worry about whether the BES will recognize it and delete on the device as well.

Although you didn't mention delays, and only mentioned failure to reconcile, it may be worth mentioning that if you run Outlook in cached mode that the BES will not pick up deletions or other activity until a full Send/Receive is done and the folders appearing in Outlook running on computer are actually synced with the Exchange server (you can set Outlook to Send/Receive all folders every 1 min. to keep the reconciliation speedy).

Hope that helps,

JT

Nope. One at a time...i use the preview pane below the email but do delete them one at a time.
