Default Loader /index doesnt find anything

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,

We have a blackberry professional server here (the cut down BES) and im trying to have a play around with software configurations before i do my BCP-213 exam (passed BCP211 last week! :D)

I have followed all instructions, both blackberry and from PINstack but the index simply doesnt find anything. There are definatly .alx and .cod files there.

When i create a configutation and then choose the share, it wont list anything.

Anyone else had this?

Only thing i could think that might be a part is that BPS is installed on drive E: but the common files folder resides on c:

Thanks

I would recommend deleting everything you've done and starting from scratch. Print out the KB and go step by step. Can you post as an attached zip what you're trying to deploy?

Will do, as far as what im trying to deploy its been anything so far, tried google maps and some random games i had found on google, this is not for a production system at the moment but would be nice to test before i do my exam.

i'll find the zip and post this afternoon. I've got a bes 5.0 webinar ive been registered for but should be able to get back on after then.

Thanks

ben

Install some BB OS on the server and see if you can create software configuration for that OS.

Oh... are you trying to do a software config on BES 5?
Forget loader.exe /index... that's not even used anymore.
I would suggest going to the BES documentation for BES 5 and read up there.
Software Config in BES 5 is completely different than BES 4.

I am sure you are not alone.
So far it's been OK for me. We're a small shop and I don't really need to use BAS very much.
I can definitely see that it would be very frustrating for admins in much larger organizations.
