Default Unable to open the memo folder

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

BES 5.0.0, Exchange 2007 SP1.

We are getting loads of the following errors:

{user@domain.com} ConstructPIMFolder - Failed to open the memo folder for user (0x80040107)

I have read posts on this forum explaining to try and run the cleanfolders switch in Outlook, and this does sort of clear the issue up for the user, but it comes back again within a couple of days. I now have this issue for everyone who uses the BES service.

Not had any complaints through the helpdesk, so not sure whether these are errors that are appearing on the users devices.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Andrew.

Did you try using the /resetfolders switch?

If you are getting this warning for the user it means that the folder ID for Memos has changed. In this users mailbox every folder has an ID and they should never change.

The BES will only sync the defualt folders, Contacts/Calendar/Notes/Tasks. Right now to the BES the Memos folder looks like it was deleted and re-created and the BES will not sync this folder any more because of that.

There is an article from RIM on how to check the folder ID to see if it did indeed change: KB11639 - EA process stops when attempting to synchronize the memo or contact list
