Default Visual Studio 2005 new app - 06-25-2009, 05:34 AM

Hallo from Italy.

I developed an application using BlacbBerry Snap-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and all works fine in debug environment.

I'm not able to create a new software configuration on my BES (4.1.4 rel); I put my application (only a .jar file) in the

..program files\common files\Research in motion\shared\application\<new folder> and run ..program files\common files\Research

in motion\apploader\loader/index (that creates PkgDbCache.xml and specification.pkg files).

When I create a new software configuration in BES my application I can't find my new app.

Can anyone help me ?

Thank you in advance.

If you want to deploy an app you need a jad/cod or alx/cod mix of files. You cannot push jar from a BES.

Thank you.

If I have BES 4.1.4 do I have to download and install MDS services ? In my services list (in Windows 2000 server Administration instruments) I have MDS connection service (running).
Is the same ? Can I convert jar file with MDS connection service ?

Thank you again.

Hi.

I thank you for your help but I'm not able to solve the problem.

How can I deploy OTA my application (the jar file is create with Ms Visual Studio plugin) to the Bb ?
I installed the Black Berry Jde 4.5 to convert the jar file into cod file ... but I have alway many errors (the jar file seems not be created correctly).

I tell you that my BES release NOT support MDS Services.

Thank again

You need to have the file in cod/alx format to deploy to the handheld ... resolve your conversion issues first.

Can you help me to resolve the conversion issue ?
Do I need to use the BlackBerry Jde to do that or there is another way ?

Seems like jar file that Ms Vs plugin produces is not in the correct format (my project works fine in the simulator).

I cannot; you should try asking in the Developer Forum
