Default Wireless reconcile Option disappearing after DR Test - 07-03-2009, 09:02 AM

Hi,

We had a disaster recovery test last weekend. The test involves replicating the production BESMGMT database to new hardware at DR, then using the same SRP key starting all required blackberry services on the new hardware. This worked well and seemed like a good solution.

So the issue I have is that the Monday after the DR test about 30 % of our Blackberry users are unable to sync their Blackberry with Outlook. On closer inspection the wireless reconcile option had disappeared for all of them.

I had seen this issue before and know to fix it by deleting the desktop cmime and desktop sync service books then resending the service books from the BES to the affected users.

Why would this happen for so many users? How can I prevent this from happening after the dr tests. We use BES 4.1.6 with exchange 2003 sp2.

We have no budget for the nice BES 5.0 with built in DR or even for neverfail.

Anyone seen this before? Or does anyone use a similar strategy for disaster recovery and not experience this problem?

Any help is much appreciated guys.

P

Can you further detail the process you used?

What version of SQL are you using? How did you replicate that database; using what method? SQL Replication or a simple database copy / restore / etc?
