Default Blackberry Pro on Domain Controller

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All...thanks in advance.

I am running the BlackBerry Professional Software 4.1.4.3
on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. I want to promote that server to become a domain controller, this would be the 2nd domain controller if I promote the server.

Are there any issues with promoting a server to a DC role once the BB Pro is already installed?

IIRC it removes all local accounts except administrator and that will break BPS if the service account is removed.

the service account would be a domain account and already be granted permissions to log on to the box ... but once you make it a DC depending on the policies in place that may be taken away and you'll have problems.

Read: KB17054 - Assigning permissions for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account ... and make these changes before you do a dcpromo.

Better yet, don't make this box a Domain Controller.
