Default Blackberry Manager 4.1.4.17 setup

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Community,

I recently installed Blackberry Manager 4.1.4.17 on our exchange server. I now am to the point where I am trying to get the phone set up. However, I have only tried one phone so far and it still has the IT Policy Status as Pending. The IT policy is set to default.... It is now the second day and I don't know what else to do to get the Pending to go away. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Wes

Your post is very very difficult to understand.

What did you install on the Exchange server? Was it BlackBerry Professional Software (BPS)?

What do you mean "you tried one phone"? What did you try?

I think you need to explain yourself more clearly.
What are you trying to accomplish?
What did you install on Exchange, and what version is it?
What version is Exchange?
etc...

Yes, it was blackberry professional software

When I say I have only tried one phone. I mean I have several blackberry's in the office that I still have to get hooked up to the blackberry software.

What I am trying to do is to get the blackberry's in the office to receive their emails. I currently am running Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2003.

I followed the Getting Started Guide that can be found here: na.blackberry.com/eng/deliverables/850/BlackBerry_Professional_Software_Getting_Started_G uide.pdf

OK... so did you do an Enterprise Activation on the "one phone" that you tried?
What exactly did you try?

It's hard to help you when you won't say exactly what you've done.

Yes, I tried so far to do an activation on the "one" phone.

A screen shot of what I can see can be found here : xs.to/xs.php?h=xs841&d=09283&f=bb789.jpg

You're really not making this easy.
WHAT HAPPENS?!
Where does the activation fail?

Go through this troubleshooting KB article and provide more detail for us:

OK, I will review that link and see if I can come up with some more info... The problem is I am not getting any sort of error at all. I just don't know what to do in order to get the phone to not say Pending beside the IT Policy Status

I have already done Stage 1 and Stage 2 I am stuck on Stage 3 now!

You need to Enterprise Activate the BlackBerry.
So far, you haven't confirmed if you've done it.

You said you tried it... but aren't giving any details on what you actually did.

Did you try a Wired or Wireless activation?

I don't know what else to do here. You're giving us nothing and that's really all we can give in return.

Ok, so how do I Enterprise Activate?

I have gotten the BlackBerry smartphone to generate an ETP.DAT message and send it to the BlackBerry smartphone user mailbox over the wireless network.

Then, I got the BlackBerry Messaging Agent to generate a new permanent encryption key and send it to the BlackBerry smartphone.

I took that Key the email address and put it into the phone! That's what I have done so far.

Ok ... from reading this it doesn't seem you really understand how this all works.

Read about the EA process: KB13850 - What is the wireless enterprise activation process

Next, copy the BlackBerry server logs generated today, zip them up and email them to [email address] and I'll look at them to see what you missed.

Ok, when I get to the Enterprise Activation. I type in the email address and the password. At the bottom it still say Not Activated.....

When I go to the Manager the IT POlicy Status now says : 70 Processing Stopped: Invalid PIN

Right... because you haven't done the activation yet.
Type in the email address and password... then press the menu button and choose 'Activate'.

Did you set the activation password for this user?
Is that the activation password you're using?
Does this BlackBerry have an Enterprise BlackBerry Data Plan?
Did you go through the KB article I linked to above? Specifically, this part:

If that were all true, then you wouldn't be having a problem.

Now I'm really done. All yours, hdawg.

Ok penguin...thanks for trying to make me feel like an idiot!

I have looked over the articles that both of you have posted! The only thing remotely close to what I am having trouble with is:

The slow synchronization process stops responding at the Initializing stage

* KB13847 - The slow synchronization process does not start
* KB13849 - Messages are delivered although the enterprise activation process is incomplete

Neither of which fixed my problem at hand. If you don't want to help me anymore than just don't but you don't have to act like you are so high and mighty because this is your forte and not mine!!
