Cool Activation issues mixing Verizon with AT&T

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys!

First post and I tried searching, but no luck :(

Our company has 8 BB's thru AT&T currently activated and working as they should..
I have been trying to add my new Tour from Verizon as well with no success.

I configure myself as a user, issue a temp password, but everytime I try to complete enterprise activation through the phone, I get an error that the server could not be contacted.

Just added and activated a new user on AT&T with a Curve with no issues.

Called Verizon tech, they say everything is set up on the account and they have done all they can..it's a BB issue..

I've sort of been thrown into this and I'm learning quick but would appreciate any help that anyone can throw my way

I'll bet $1 that they have the wrong BlackBerry Data PLan provisioned on your account.
Make sure it's the $45 Enterprise Plan. Not the $29 plan.

I would still call them to verify.

Is the activation email eith etp.dat attachment reaching your mailbox?
Perhaps being caught by a spam or anti-virus filter?

Ok did some further digging..
Verizon confirmed the correct plan is active..

As soon as I click on activate thru the handset, I receive a garbled email in my inbox with a .dat file attached to it.

I assume this isn't supposed to be happening? Then the activation just times out

You're supposed to receive the etp.dat attachment email in your inbox... but it should disappear as soon as it arrives.

If it's staying in your inbox, then you have a BES configuration problem.
Most likely, the BES service account doesn't have the proper permissions set.

Ok just an update with another unanswered question.

No matter what I did previously, I could not get my BB to activate wireless, always threw an error. So I created a new mailbox, migrated everything to the new mailbox, and voila, it activated wirelessly. Been working spot on for ~2 months.

Now today, I received a replacement tour due to trackball issues, and I go to activate the brand new device after wiping the old one, same problem.

Even deleted myself and readded as a user within BES, but no luck. Set password and no matter what still throws "An unknown error occur......system admin". The email from RIM shows up in my "Recovered deleted items" folder which shows its getting intercepted correctly.

Any clue as to what would allow my BB to activate previously, but throw an error now? I'm leaning towards a corrupt setting in my mailbox(es)

Thanks!
