Is it possible to synchronise Domino personal contact lists using BES 4.0?

Kind Regards,

Yes. You can do it via the desktop software or do it wirelessly.

Thanks for the quick reply.

You you have a link to how I configure the BES to synchronise the personal contact lists? Note that the personal contact lists are not the main contact list (address book) that I have synchronizing wirelessly now.

The way I did wireless sync of the personal address book was to convert the user to a roaming user. This will wirelessly sync your bookmarks, personal address book and your journal (shows up as memos on your bb). I would make a back up of those 3 databases before you switch a user to roaming. I lost my journal when I switched over. If you dont have any roaming users yet, I would read up on it first. It works great. Good Luck! Hope this helps!

If you're running Domino 6 you can do a Action| Synchronize Addressbook. This function is really for synchronizing the personal addressbook with the iNotes addressbook. BlackBerry wireless addressbook sync will synchronize with the iNotes addressbook.

You can also put a replica of the personal addressbook on a Domino server and point the BES to the addressbook. Only problem with this is you now have to replicate the personal addressbook.

Thanks for all your replies. What BES 4.0 service pack do I need to be running for this to work. I am currently running Service Pack 1 and it isn't working and this may be the reason.

I have Bes 4 and Lotus 5.0.13 (No Roaming users)

There are two options in this case, one is to make a replica of the user's memo and personal address books on the server.
The other is to use the iNotes Address book and memo, which the user needs to manually sync on their desktop client.

If you use the first option point the path to bes\addressbooks\username.nsf
or bes\journals\username.nsf (Put the replicas there)

for the second option it would point to their mail box, so mail\username.nsf

It works very nice.

If your actually reffering to synching a personal distribution list and not "single contacts" then this is not possible on any BES platform or version.

Do you have any idea for above ? I would like to synchronize with 2 cotacts lists. These are "Personal" and "Public". Also, I do not want to use "Desktop Manager" to synchronize.
