Planning on making the move from MSDE to SQL

Here are my stats:
Domino: 6.5.4 FP3
BES: 4.1.6 MR7
Users: 292

Going to be using a MSSQL 2005 server

So, beyond KB12247..

Anything noteworthy?

KB12247 is a good guide except that it never check:-

(1) if port 1433 is open from BES computer to your SQL server 2005
(2) if named pipe and tcpip is enabled on your SQL server 2005 (as BES is now a remote client to your SQL server)

Backup all your data, by that I mean backing up:-

(1) BES folder
(2) BESMgmt database
(3) Document your SRP ID, SRP Auth Key and CAL keys

Good luck, should be simple and straight forward.

Also log in to SSMS as BESAdmin so permissions do not change when restoring the database. You can change the permissions back if logged in with diff account.
