Default WIN2K3 OS: Applying Computer Settings, takes forever

Please Login to Remove!

I encounter a situation this past weekend.
After rebooting my W2K BES server... just priot to the CTRL+ATL+DEL prompt,
my server hung on Applying Computer Settings for a VERY long time.

Web searches revealed many known culprits... (none of which BES related)

Has anyone ever encountered this?

I've encountered it, but it's never been BES related.
APC Powerchute was a culprit a few times on some older servers.
MSMQ was also an issue a few times.
I've seen DNS problems cause this too.

I would scour the Windows forums for help. I sincerely doubt this is a result of any issue with BES.

look at your system and application event logs ... I've seen this with DNS problems and stupid service dependency problems. Try setting services to manual / disabled and restarting the server.

Is SQL on the BES also? Is it a domain controller? Exchange server?
