Default BES with BIS mailbox, no separate BES icon

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using my Bold with BES/Exchange, and I have also added my Gmail account as an Internet Mail account. That works fine, except that all my Gmail messages end up in my "Messages" box - as expected, I understand.

So what I wanted was to add a separate Inbox or icon for my BES messages; some asking around led me to KB article KB15003.

I've done the command on our BES server (4.1.6), but more than a day later, I'm not seeing any new icon. I have resent service books from the server. What am I missing here?

You can try Empower BESMailbox app to create an independent icon for your BES email account. Empower BES MailBox provides a dedicated access to your work emails. Just click on it and you are shown only BES messages.

There is 10 days free trial available for this app. You can install the trial from Empower Website Empower Apps using your BlackBerry Browser.

When you say you've "done the command", does that mean you've made the necessary SQL database changes?

Is your SQL database remote or local to BES?

You've followed KB15003 carefully and didn't get an errors at all?

Are you sure the Desktop mail icon simply isn't hidden ?

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Yes, I typed the command as per KB15003: "bbdbupdate -db BESMgmt -input EnableBESOnlyMessageApplication.sql"

The database is local.

The log file reported this, so I reckon it was successful:
[40000] (10/06 10:49:11.804):{0x2624} UPDATE ServerConfig SET BESOnlyMessages = 1 WHERE BESOnlyMessages = 0
[20000] (10/06 10:49:12.226):{0x2624} The SQL commands completed successfully.

And the icon definitely isn't hidden.

Thanks for the help.
