Default Question about BBM on BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Everyone,

New to the forums so please bare with me as i could not find any information about this from search (could of been searching the wrong phrase).

I am not the admin to our BES at my work, but I am the main support contact for anything Blackberry related. I am not on our BES with my Blackberry since our company does not pay for my BB and Canadian prices for BES packages are stupid, but almost everyone in my department is. I asked one of them to BBM someone for me and they said they didn't use nor have them on BBM. My mouth just about dropped...

Is there a way to push BBM contacts to say certain groups we assign people to in the BES? As a example:

Groups:
Corporate
IT
Sales
On-Air TV
On-Air Radio
Finance

If A B C users are in group "Corporate", anyone else in that group would be automatically pushed your BBM contact to everyone in that groups BB. If D E F are in IT... you get the point.

Please let me know if there is any settings like this on a BES

Dont know if this will work but am thinking outside of the box today. Anyone want to test it out?

Create a dummy account in AD/BES and activate a phone then add in all the contacts in BBM. Then wipe it and active a new phone and the BBM contacts should be there with BES 4.1.6 and HH OS 4.5.

Then EA again with new user account and the contacts might just stay there.

Im thinking more like AD SG's where if a person is a part of this BES "SG" then they will be given A B C BBM contacts automatically

How about setting one user up, then backing that user up to the removable media card, then restoring it to the other users?

5.0 has back up ability to the removable media, unless it has changed since 5.0.0.3 beta that was on my Bold.

Or could you email the backup file to the other users? the opnly problem would be that the existing users may get wiped out.
