1x - 1XEV definitions -

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the network service type indicator acronyms displayed on our new Sprint blackberry's, as we have just switched from T-Mobile(gsm) to Sprint(cdma). This is as I understand things so far:
1x: Connected to 1xRTT cellular network, but not RIM's servers.
No data services. No web browsing, no email from device.
1X: Connected to 1xRTT cellular network as well as connected to RIM's servers.
Normal data services: Slow.
1xEV: Connected to full speed EVDO cellular network, but not RIM's servers.
No data services. No browsing or email from device.
1xev: Connected to throttled EVDO cellular network, but not RIM's servers.
No data services. No browsing or email from device.
1Xev: Connected to throttled EVDO cellular network, as well as connected to RIM's servers.
Normal data services.
1XEV: Connected to full speed EVDO cellular network, as well as connected to RIM's servers.
Normal data services. High speed. The most desired network status.
This Correct? I believe lowercase ev may also indicate you are outside of the Sprint service area, but are using another carriers EVDO network, but I'm uncertain as I've not specifically traveled to known roaming areas. And unless I am imagining things, I've seen 1Xev while idle, then 1XEV when I performed a reconciliation.
