Default BlackBerry Transporter tool use against 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 BlackBerry domains - 11-07-2009, 08:09 PM

Can someone please help me clarify if it is possible to use the BES 5.0 transporter tool to migrate users from a BES 4.1.4 domain to a 4.1.5 domain both BB domains are assosiated to the same MS Exchange organisatio? All the RIM documentation out there refers to migrating from 4.1.x to 5.0 only.

Hello,
I know you can go from:
BES 4x to BES 5x
BES 5x to BES 4x

I ran into this when testing a BES 4x in development, and wanting to move users from production BES 4x server. The transporter would not let me do this.

I opened RIM support case number RQST00007743012 to ask that very question. The answer was that vaguely one of the servers needs to be 5.0.

Thanks for the information. It seems the problem is to do with BES user ID numbering collisions in different BlackBerry domains. Apparently in BES 5.0 an addition referential DB field was added to handle this issue. - Kudos to post in port 3101.org by hooper.
