Question QQ - Appointments update in GroupWise created duplicates on BlackBerry - 12-02-2009, 08:45 AM

Hi all,

BES GroupWise 4.1.6 MR4
GroupWise 7.0.3
OAPI mode

Noticed one thing, whenever a user change a meeting date/time, BES actually creates a new entry (with a entirely diff RefID with viewed from BlackBerry). The BlackBerry ends up 2 similar entry (one with the original meeting date/time and the other with the modified date/time). BES will eventually clears the original entry but I noticed that this deletion may takes from 10 minutes and up to 60 minutes to happen. All the time, GroupWise maintain just one copy (i.e. the updated one).

Is this normal? By design? At some instances, deletion of the old entry never happens? Should I upgrade to MR5?

Thanks in advance for all input.

Found my answer after much askings and readups - by design. The slowness in removing the original entry on the BlackBerry is a limitation with OAPI. Hopefully the new BESG 5.0 gives us hope.
