Default BPS server crashed

Please Login to Remove!

I'm building a new server after my existing BPS server 4.1 crashed. Do I need to do anything specific to reset the licensing info? the old server is completely dead so I can't deauthorize or uninstall or remove the licenses.
Also, what about the users? will I have to recreate all the users and reprovision the phones?

I'm new to BPS so any help is apreciated.

Thanks,

AVI

What's the status of the SQL database?
You can recover easily and seamlessly if the database is intact.
If you need to put up a new database, then you'll need to wipe and reactivate all of your users when the new server is built.

Thanks for the info. The SQL server/database was running on the same machine that crashed (as MSDE) so no access to it. I'm less concerned about recreating the users and reprovisioning the phones since I only have 5 of those, but I am concerned about the licenses and being required to contact RIM and asking them to manually reset everything. I don't have a support contract with them since this is for a very small business and I never had to call support so far, so I hope it's not going to be a pain.

Thanks again.

You won't have trouble with respect to licensing.

OK. Thank you. Does that means that all I need to do is install the BPS server on the new machine with the same SRP and CAL ids?

Thanks again
