Default BES 5.0 HA and SQL Access

Please Login to Remove!

Hi - Please share your thoughts, if you have come across.

1. If I have a BES servers in location X and Database server in location Y, does BES constantly communicate to Databasde server Y? I understand that BES would talk to DB, if there is any change in IT policies or anything related to device settings? please correct my understanding.

2. Does BES talk to SQL database for every e-mail that is delivered to handheld?

3. We have tested a scenarios wherein BES 5.0 HA works between location X and Y (where in Database in kept in location X). If I have 2000 active users on BES in location X, during automatic failovee to location Y, can i expect zero impact to end users?

Any of your thoughts would be helpful.

The BES and SQL can be at different location as long as the latency is not too high.

BES will keep running while the SQL server is down for awhile but BES will not startup if SQL server is down. So if the SQL server is down don't restart BES.
