Default BES 4.0 software on eBay and 3.6 SMB to 4.0 Enterprise

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased BES from an eBay vendor? There are a few copies of BES 4.0 w/20 CALs from reputable vendors that are thousands lower than what I can get it from RIM or through our provider. They mention the SRP is validated as permanent and unconnected. We currently use the BES 3.6 Small Business edition and to do the upgrade to 4.0 plus the upgrade to the Enterprise edition is more expensive than just buying a new Enterprise server license. I've noted some good instructions on this forum for doing an switch to Enterprise and a new version so it seems like a viable option.

Also, will Tx1 support be necessary to get the 4.1 upgrade when it is available?

Any advice on these "money and migration" matters would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
R

SBE 3.6 you are allowed 20 licences if you have 20 SBE licences you would need to remove 5 and have purchased 5 upgrade Enterprise licences. Tx1 support is always a good idea as you have support from RIM from HH and BES issues... Whenever purchasing anything from ebay you would need to be careful. I don't see how an EBay vendor can sell it for less as you are purchasing the CAL's and SRP not the software.

EBay BES = Bad Idea.... You will be paying for the BES on EBay then you will find out that RIM won't support it and then you will be purchasing the upgrade licences anyway.

So which way would you go.
