Default How to fetch CAL information in BES 4.1

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am new to this forum so forgive me if I am not asking it in a correct forum.

I have BES 4.1 and need to fetch the CAL info as we need to send the following info as daily report to management:

Total Licenses
Used Licenses
Free Licenses

What we have to do on daily basis is that we see the information in GUI and manually type the same in mails and send it.

So if any one can help me in finding if there is any SQL table or registry key where this information is stored or if there is any command to find the same.

Thanks in advance...

Click on BlackBerry Domain on the left pane.
Then in the right pane, select the 'Global' tab, expand 'Account', and choose 'License Management'.
You should see:
License Total:
Used:
Free:

Could just do a screen shot of this info and email it?

or

From command-line, you can do the following:

bcp "select LicenseKey from BESMgmt.dbo.LicenseKeys where type = 0" queryout c:\licensekeys.txt -c -T -R -E -Sdbservername

That will export all installed license keys to the text file specified in the command. Just be sure to change dbservername to your SQL/MSDE server. This needs to be run from a server/machine that has bcp.exe installed, though (installed by default with SQL and MSDE installations).

This does not resolve my problem:

a. Screen shot needs to be taken manually but if the value can be fetched then we can schedule it run automatically.
b. The commannd you gave just exports the license key but does not report utilization and availablity.

Utilization is easy to figure out (count of users in USerConfig), but total license number is difficult because the license key has the count encoded in it. You'd have to decode each key to find the quantity of each key - and I'm think RIM wouldn't like you doing that.

But then, how often do you change the number of licenses purchased?
