Default Messenger deployment & audit reports

Please Login to Remove!

I did a few searches and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, so please forgive me if my blonde is showing.

I have a few questions about Messenger:

1 - Have any of you deployed Messenger company-wide? If not, what were your reasons for not deploying it - security, support, etc?

2 - If you did deploy it (or just didn't turn it off and have people using it), have you turned on the Messenger audit reports? I turned them on a couple of weeks ago just to see what they do/look like, and it appears to send an email from the users device (which shows as a sent item) at the interval I selected to a specific mailbox (started with 1hr intervals). Holy crap did that generate a lot of email from our 270 users before I turned it off!

3 - Is there a way to make it so the users don't see a sent item? Not that I want to be sneaky or anything, but several users sent me emails asking what the sent items were, where they went, etc.

Thanks for your time!

I've been trying to figure this out myself. For legal purposes, we want to be able to monitor Messenger usage but have to be stealthy about it. Can this logging be done without having something go to the users' sent items? Anyone know? The original posting here was from a long time ago....

Thanks!

I had that same experience as juwaack. And if you look at it, it only reports back the active conversations at that time. I looked at my report and it didn't report any data from conversations that had been closed. I would be interested in tracking this better as well.
