Default Exchange 2003 to 2007 Upgrade Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I have both an Exchange 2003 and an Exchange 2007 enviroment. The only user left on Exchange 2003 is BESAdmin. All my user's Blackberries are functioning normally, so far so good...

Now I want to finish the Exchange migration by moving the BESAdmin account from the 2003 server, to the 2007 server. Before migrating the account I did the following:

1) Disabled all Blackberry services on BES Server.
2) Then tried to uninstall Exchange Server from the BES Server (this is NOT our mail server). But during the uninstall, I got this error for the following componenets:

Components:
Micorosft Exchange System Management Tools
Microsoft Exchange Domain Preparation
Microsoft Exchange Forest Preparation

An unexpected error occured.
ID no: 8000ffff
Microsoft Exchange Setup

So I stopped right there. Then I wondered, do I need to migrate the BesAdmin account to the 2007 BEFORE I uninstall the the above components from the BES Server? I didn't want to migrate the BesAdmin account, and then not be able to uninstall Exchange 2003 compnents from the BES Server - then I'd be stuck.

Is there a way to install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects version 1.2.1 without uninstalling Exchange 2003? I'm wondering because if I migrate the BESAdmin account, my assumption is that mail flow between Exchange the the Blackberry devices would be broken until I recreate the MAPI profile.

Any input would be much appreciated.

You should have followed this doc.
