according to an email received from RIM this is the way to rollback a servicepack (i have asked them how to rollback from SP3 to SP2):
In the scenario where a role back to sp2 was required, the current sp3 nbes.exe and nbes.pdb would need to be replaced with the nbes.exe and nbes.pdb from either sp2 or sp2hf2. If a upgraded was to be performed to sp3hf2 or sp4, the sp2hf2 .exe and .pdb would just need to be replaced with the original sp3 .exe and .pdb. Prior to replacing these file both the BES and Domino servers would need to be shut down. |
Two BES server running different versions (e.g BES4.0 SP3 hf1 and BES4.0 SP2) can use the same BESMgmt database. When applying sp or hf to these servers it would be best to stop the other BES server connect to the database. During upgrades schema changes may be made to the BESMgmt. If another BES server is connected to the database it is possible that it may lock a portion of the database and prevent the schema changes from taking effect. If the one of the BES server was connect and running when the other BES server was upgraded, stopping either of the server and running the sp or hf again would ensure the schema changes were made.
