Default Free BES from Cingular?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone been successful in obtaining BES free of charge from Cingular if they have X amount of Cingular service plans with them? We currently have close to 100 BlackBerry accounts with Cingular and we are looking to deploy a 2nd BES server (in another geographic location with a separate mail server).

Not sure if anyone has been successful in getting anything out of Cingular if you do enough business with them or not.

If you had Sprint you would get a free 20 user BES if you activated 10 or more units.

Here in Canada with any of the providers we've been able to get free BES for 20 users and free Blackberries (7250) for as low as 20 users when dual loading them (phone and data services).

I heard about the sprint/nextel offer on this forum. I need to stick to Cingular however.

I would like to know also with cingular.

We have just transfered 20 users from different providers to cingular and I am surprised they want to chanrge 100.00$US for a single liscence as well as make us pay for the bes.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Back in sept/oct we setup 20 NEW 7290 data only activations and we got BES 4.0 with 25 license free. Part of the deal they had going on. We were looking to add the second server and we asked the rep if there was any type of deal. Doesn't hurt to ask this was with cingular too

It was my understanding that you need to purchase a CAL - Client Access License for each new device. I thought CALs cost $50 on average unless going through a RIM solution provider and getting a small discount by purchasing CALs in bulk?

So are carriers purchasing CALs from RIM and then giving the CALs with the devices to enterprise clients?

Cingular was offering free BES+20 license for our company. Verizon had exactly the same offer and since we have global contract with them, we are going with Verizon.

Sorry this is a bit off-topic...
The Verizon rep says they would give us support on BES as well. This all sounds great, but I am little worried because this is not a direct support from RIM like TSupport. Then again, since Verizon is our provider, when we have some kind of problem, they could support us on both network issues and handheld issues so it may not be a bad idea after all.

Does anyone have a contact at Cingular I could call? I just keep getting transferred around and no one at Cingular knows anything about BES, they just want to sell me a BlackBerry.

Typical responses "Oh you have over 100 lines, let me transfer you.", "Which BlackBerry would you like to purchase?", "Let me transfer you to data support."

Arg....

We have received 120 free bes licenses + the bes server software for free fron cingular. Plus they gave us about 40 or 50 free refurbed 6710's, 10 new 7100's + 40 refurbed 7290's. They also lowered the monthly rate from 49 to 29 for unlimited traffic.

The deals never seem to stop from these folks.

Well I am stuck with only 20 BB's (small company)

I was told if we bought 20 new 7290's they would give us the BES and liscences free. However we are migrating from t-mobile and i have unlocked all the BB so we dont need new ones.

My local busniess rep just quit dropping the ball on a bunch of things she was "sapposed" to be doing for us. Now I have to wait until we ghet a new rep to get anything done.
