Default Migrating to BES 5 - MP3 Preview No Longer Working

Please Login to Remove!

We use a service to route voicemails to to email in the form of WAV or MP3 files. When a newly migrated BES 5 users attempts to preview an MP3 voicemail they receive an error message indicating an unknown error has occured. The user can download and play the MP3 message just fine, just unable to Preview. Function worked well in BES 4.

We are able listen to the WAV files just fine.

Any ideas on what could be causing the MP3 preview error for the BES 5 users?

Thanks!

It's a Server 2008 box and I didn't even think of adding Media Player...good call. Now to find the correct WMP version for Server 2008. Thanks!

Did you read the "Installation and Configuration Guide"?

http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/...1-5.0.1-US.pdf

Hell I'll point you right to it. Page 19:

BlackBerry Attachment Service

If the BlackBerry Attachment Service is hosted on a computer that uses Windows Server 2008, the BlackBerry Attachment Service does not support .mp3 audio files on BlackBerry devices, and the BlackBerry Attachment Service does not support any audio file formats on BlackBerry® 7100 Series devices that support CDMA networks.

You must host the BlackBerry Attachment Service on a computer that uses Windows Server 2003 if you want the BlackBerry Attachment Service to
support .mp3 audio files on BlackBerry devices and all audio formats on BlackBerry 7100 Series devices that support CDMA networks.
