Default Ports in use towards remote sql

Please Login to Remove!

We have a strange issue on our bes for domino. The exe blackberrysynserver.exe is eating up all local ports.

Example below:

TCP s0006710:1041 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1054 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1057 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1058 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1059 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1159 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
TCP s0006710:1168 sa001841.xxxx:13400 ESTABLISHED
and this goed on and on

The sa001841 is our remote sql server

Why is this service using randomly local ports ? Can we change this? Reason is that our backup TSM is failing since it needs a port in the used range...

It is a range that starts with port 1000 till 2000.
The main destination port is 13400, this is the port on which BB SQL listens (instead of the default port 1433).

BUt I think it's not normal that this amount of connections towards our sql server are in place

Anyone having an idea ?

Doesn't make sense. Those ports are not used by the SYNC service... See link below for all ports used:-

BlackBerry Synchronization Service connection types and port numbers

Make sure your host "s0006710" is dedicated to BES services ONLY... I would suggest that you check if there are any other applications installed that use databases hosted on "sa001841".

The internal port on an outbound connection is always random. There may be a lot of slow sync activities.
