Default Automatic Unlock Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everybody....

I have a user who is insisting that his Blackberry automatically unlock, as in no need to enter a password to unlock the device, upon the receipt of a specific email message. The message is always from a specific email address and contains a specific email subject. I am 99.99% certain there is no way to do this but I was instructed to ask around to verify that this cannot be done. We use BES 4.0 in an Exchange 2003 environment.

He is trying to convince management that he should be excluded from our corporate poilcy of all moible devcies automatically lock after 30 minutes of non-use. The message is from an alarm system. The alarm system is incapable of dialing a phone number and playing a pre-recorded voice message. It can only email or send a text message.

Thanks.

Not possible.

But you could set up a special ring tone for that one user/contact in profiles and create a custom ringtone for the alert.

I do the above on my 9700 for when my routers are no longer pingable from siteuptime.com

Right, like knottyrope said, create a custom ring tone, or create a message filter, which make the message appear as a level 1 message, then, it will be in red in his inbox.

Or, if you have a fax messaging system like faxmaker, you could automatically forward the message to [email address]
Of course, the fax will not appear on his device, but, he will be very annoyed by 3 or more fax-beeping calls to his mobile until the fax gives up. (and, he has not to unlock his BB to accept the call, and, if the fax system sends the right number you could set this contact as "ALARM" in his phonebook).
