Default Blackberry Tour Wiped

When my battery drained at the end of the day I plugged in the power and then it just wiped itself clean. Anyone heard of this? I had to sync back up with the BES.

Yes, there is an IT policy that does that

"Security Wipe If Low Battery"

Check on your BES if that one is enabled for your user account.

What's the idea behind that policy?

The idea is that in a low battery condition, it won't receive a wipe command. So the assumption is it's no longer with the owner. There's another policy that wipes it if it hasn't received an IT Policy in X number of hours as well - this one I do use.
