Question Trouble with Meeting Requests since Exchange 2010 and BES5 SP2

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

we have migrated to Exchange 2010 Rollup4 and BES 5 SP2. Everything works pretty fine expect meeting requests.

On the BB they now come in as a normal mail.

I can't accept / cancel or do other stuff you're normally used to with the requests.

Is there a way to get this working again?

Thank you very much for your help!

Make sure that EWS is configured correctly on both BES and Exchange side.
Afaik EWS is default for 5.0.2. Make sure there are no errors in CALH log.

You may also raise MAGT debug log level to 15 via the registry and look for errors.

Greetings,

EWS is working fine for the clients. How can I check BES-EWS?
Where are those logs you are talking about?

(When I create a new meeting request on the BB it works fine, I also can see if the user is available,
so only request to a BB user can't be viewed correctly on the BB)

According to:
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/...1-5.0.2-US.pdf
I can use the TraitTool to modify EWS/Mapi settings.
But I'm totally unsure what method is best for me.
Right now only one user is on Exchange 2010 that has this problem.
All other users are on the old 2003 Server without this problem.

I don't want to cause other troubles for the other users.

Thanks!

Hi Seppi,

If you problem is calendar events from outside your organisation, give this a go:

View the following URL:

Configuring a Microsoft Exchange 2010 messaging environment - Installation and Configuration Guide - BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange - 5.0.2

... and checkout the paragraph under this heading:

Permit meeting requests from outside of your organization when using Microsoft Exchange Web Services for Microsoft Exchange 2010

we only need meeting request to work from inside the organization.

OK, well give what I suggested a go and let me know how you get on...

Note: the powershell commands provided in the 5.0.2 installation document leave a lot to be desired - i.e. some don't actually work as written.

Ok, tried the command but no changes, even after rebooting exchange and bes.

I had seen this on a few BB devices. We fixed it by turning off wireless sync for the calendar (on the device), waiting a few minutes, and turning it back on.

I tried your trick but sadly it's not working for me. I also did a RSET of the calendar - still no change.

I'll have to make a call at RIM :(
