Default Message subject line cannot be viewed, but messages are in the inbox.

I have a user on a Bold 9700 (AT&T). When he attempts to see his messages, the only thing he can see is the dates. If he slowly scrolls between days and clicks the trackpad, it will open the message, but no message is visible in his inbox. I had him try selecting a group of messages to see if they could be seen then. No joy.
We are on a BES 4.1.6, and have about 250 users. no others have reported this issue. Any ideas???

Have you tried a battery pull on that handheld?
If so, have you tried wiping and reactivating? Sounds like there could be some corruption on the message database on the handheld.
