BES Express 5.01 " run on any Internet-enabled data plan" I've installed allot of BES Enterprise and BES Express/Pro. servers and the new feature confuses me on BES Express 5.0.1.: BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express has no additional cost for the software or client access licenses (CALs), and can run on any Internet-enabled data plan -This indicates the Blackberry Enterprise Data Plan is not needed. I have done extensive research on BB forums and on RIM's website but no dice! Nothing provides direction on how this works. I have done 4 installs of BES Express 5.0.1 and not been able to figure out how it works. Anyone? |
Slightly misleading. With BESx 5, you still need a BlackBerry Data Plan, however you no longer need the Enterprise BlackBerry Plan. A personal BIS plan will suffice for wireless message deliver and PIM sync, but not wireless EA. If the device is provisioned with a BIS data plan, it can only be EA'd via USB cable. |
Thanks you, Have you tried this? After EA via USB does all the BES functions work? |
Yes, it works fine. |
ummm... Ok, I just activated over the wireless and I don't think we have an Enterprise Account!? Maybe we do now! jtmiles |
