Question Exchange 2003 GAL

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All!
Is there a way to synchronize the Exchange Global Address List on all my Blackberrys on the BES?
Thanks!

Not without third-party software.
If I may ask, why would you want to do this? Is the Lookup feature not suitable for your needs?

Look up Feature? If I compose an e-mail, I can lookup any contact in my Contacts folder, but I can not find any users in the Exchange GAL. What is the procedure (other than manually typing in full SMTP address) to address somone in your organization but not in your contacts folder?
Thanks!

The Lookup feature on the device is designed specifically for looking up entries in the GAL.
When you're composing a message (or when you're in the address book on the handheld) just start typing a few letters of the contact's name. You should then see an option pop up that says "Lookup: abc..."
If you click on that, it will immediately query the GAL for a match.
This is one of the best features of BES, IMO. Surprising to hear that you didn't know about it.

The new 5.0 OS in the address book defaults to New Contact when you do that - I wish they hadn't changed that. :(
