Am set up on Bes and Exchange 2007, using bb 9630

Just have enabled on bes to be able to view other folders and have them populated.

The outlook client is open all the time and all emails are delegated to a folder via rules.

Now the issue is the bb is showing all emails coming into the Inbox regardless of having a rule for it, not filing them to the dedicated folders. Get tons of reports and would be a hassle to manually move them.


Anyone else run into this problem?

You need to change the rules to server-side rules.
The BlackBerry device has no idea what to do with a rule set inside your Outlook client.

I have verified the rules are Server-Side

The BB Tour 9630 was running ver 4.7 and have upgraded to 5.0 to see if it made any difference.

Now with emails that have a rule that was set on the client, does not show up at all on the blackberry - not in the inbox, nor in their dedicated folders.

They do however appear on the client and all is working there on the pc - any suggestions?

Sounds like those folders aren't set up for redirection to the handheld.
By default, only the Inbox is set up for redirection. If you want to redirect subfolders as well, then you need to manually set that.

Messages > Options > Email Settings > click menu button > Folder Redirection
Expand your folder structure and check off any folders you want redirected to the handheld.

You had that correct, none of the folders were marked in that option. I went through and marked them all, powered off the bb, took out the sim, and then rebooted the phone.

I went to check a folder where emails constantly flow into and the last email is from July 29th? Tried to reconcile now (it's turned on) and still no luck.

Any other tips?

You won't see any previous mail prior to setting redirection.
You'll only see messages from this point on.

I'm still pretty new to the bes environment.. but for folder redirection, does it need to be enabled per user on the bes for them to be able to view other folders in the mailbox other than just the inbox? Or does it only matter if on the bb you have the folders checked in the folder redirection section?

After verifying the rules are server-side and enabling folder redirection, the emails on the blackberry are still all rolling into the inbox rather than the folders in the mailbox they are supposed to go to. Any other suggestions?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. There isn't an inbox folder on the Blackberry... it's just a message list.
Everything will appear there, including messages that are redirected to subfolders.
The message will be properly filed, but it's still going to show up in the message list on the handheld.

To hide the filed messages, go to Messages > Options > General Options > Hide Filed Messages > Yes.

Ok sorry for the confusion

I have went through and enabled Folder Redirection for all available folders.

Particular messages that are supposed to go into a specific folder called Wraps are actually coming into that folder, but additionally the same exact emails are coming into the inbox as well - giving 2 instances of the same message

I then went and enabled Hide Read Filed Messages in the general options

Email is still duplicating in the Wraps folder and the Inbox
