For those of you running Exchange 2010 - when you perform an Exchange cluster failover (planned in this case) - how do you handle it on the administrative end? Do you run the handheld cleanup tool? Restart the BES? Do nothing?
I know SCANGAL runs every 15 or so, but since with 2010 it's the CAS that gets stored in AD (and BES probably doesn't pick up DAG/Mailbox Server info), how does it know, or does it need to know, that the Exchange failover has occurred? I can't seem to find any documentation on this process.
I know from my BES logs that when it does failover that at least temporarily the user's mailbox cannot be located, but am unable to determine how or how quickly that is resolved.
On a barely related note - if you're migrating users from 2007 to 2010 using local moves, here's the order that has worked for me:
Move the mailbox
Run the handheld cleanup utility when the move is done
Reload the user or restart BES services
