Red face Please help - Need to remove BES (I think)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I have inherited a Curve 8310 from a previous job, and I want to upgrade the OS, but when I try to do it through the Desktop Manager I get amessage that I need to contact my system administrator as I am running BES.

I get my email through googlemail, so I don't think I need BES, can I remove it, and will this then let me upgrade the OS? If I can/need to remove BES, how do I do it?

Thanks
Heather

KB14202 - How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone - Port3101.org : Your BES Connection

You want to use method 3. This will completely erase the contents of your device, so make sure you back it up first.

Hi

Thanks for that, I have had a read through, and realise that my OS is actually 4.2.2.146. Are there different instructions I can follow for that, or would the post you linked work fine?

Thanks again!
