Default BES 5.0 - Can't push apps, can't delete apps

Please Login to Remove!

For a quick overview :

BES 5.0.1
Server 2003 Ent. 32 bit (VMware)
Exchange 2003
~800 Users

We got a new requirement that all users need "Google Maps" installed...... simple task. I downloaded the ZIP, added the application, created the software Config, and assigned it to my test group. And it worked fine. Added it to my standard user group.... nothing. wiped my BB and added it back to the "test" group.... nothing. So I wanted to delete the app and configuration off the server, there is no option to do so.

I went to BSM -> Software -> Applications -> Manage software config
It says I should have the option to delete and there is no option. Am I just crazy? I will be digging through my logs today to see if there is some sort of error that is stopping it from pushing.

You are not crazy. The reason you do not see the delete option is because the app is still associated with users. What you will need to do is to show the list of users assigned this app, remove it from the users and then you will be able to remove the app from the BAS.

I figured it was something like that. I have to admit, I am not a fan of this 5.0 idea yet. I seems like there aren't ALOT of benifits, but RIM redigned it to be as confusing as possible. I will be digging through after lunch to find out what the config and apps are associated with and then remove them and start from scratch. Thanks for the help.

I can't wait to go to BES 5.0 Training next month. Then maybe I can answer a few questions instead of asking them.
