Default BES 4.0.7 and Device OS 6

Please Login to Remove!

As you can see we are still in the stone ages with our BES at 4.0.7. They view it as if it works why touch it. In any case, I've been asked if the new device OS 6 will work with our BES. I'm thinking it won't have any effect on our BES as many of our devices are running the OS 5. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Pam

You need to manually update the device.xml and vendor.xml files on BES.
RIM has a KB article for this.

The article that RIM has specifies a BES 5.0 server. Will it work for an earlier server release? We are still at 4.0.7

You're looking at the wrong KB article. There's one for BES 4.x as well.
BES 5 updates the device.xml file automatically. BES 4.x needs to be done manually.

You are talking about a 2nd generation BES server talking to a 5th generation device. May have problem(s).

Start your own thread in the appropriate area. That would be a good start.
