Default BES 5.0.2 Migration: activation prompt when device is already active

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I am having the exact same problem as the post below, unfortunately there were no responses to it and it is closed now. If anyone has ideas, I would really appreciate help!

I just migrated 500 users from Exchange BES 4.1.6 > 5.0 using the knife-edge cut-over process and everything went very smoothly.

However, quite a few of our users are receiving constant prompts/pop-ups of the enterprise activation screen. This is very bizarre considering they're already registered on the new BES and have no issues sending/receiving data wirelessly!

Any idea why this is happening and/or how to fix it?
Thanks!

We had the SAME issue. Very annoying, and many VIP's were not happy (specially after all the money they spend on RIM support, and them just telling me they are looking for a fix). This morning I upgraded from 5.0.1 MR1 to 5.0.2 and I haven't seen as many issues.

Just out of curiousity, with us, it seemed to drop activation when the user tried to sync with the desktop. We turned off automatic sync for now, until we can find a solution. When if yours dropping the activation?

I don't think we have any users that use the desktop software to sync. Most users just get a prompt when they unlock their device, and if they click the back button, it goes away. However, some users get the enterprise activation icon and it gets to various percentages and then just stops. But, like I said, everything continues to work fine for all users.

I think that reactivation with a new password makes the problem go away, but I don't really want to do that for 500 users.

BTW, we migrated from 4.1.6 to 5.0.2, not 5.0 like my original post says.

Ahhhhh..... well that blows my theory out of the water. One thing you can try (I haven't done it yet, but I have been wanting to), when you get one of those BB's, you can check through the device logs. They look confusing, but maybe you can make better sence of it than I did. If on the home screen on the BB, you hold the "ALT" and type LGLG (so that would be like typing out "/"/) then it will bring up the logs. The logs look more like random letters and numbers, but I imagine a google search might be able to tell you what the device is doing when it errors. Again, I have never really gone through them or used them, but I plan on it, and maybe we will find the logs are really helpful..... or maybe we will find them a waste of time, either way, we will know.
