I just installed a blackberry express server. I created a user and used the Web Desktop to activate the device to that user. The Dekstop syncronized wihtout a problem. But, unhooked from the desktop the blackberry does not receive email unless I connect it back to the desktop. The install is all defaults. The data plan is NOT an enterprise data plan. I am told that BESX does not require it. But I am wondering if the carrier requirs it. The carrier of the phones is T-Mobile. I am pulling my hair out trying to find what reason is causing the blackberry's not sync their email. Bes server expres 5.02.

Is the data plan a Blackberry data plan, in this case the personal/BIS plan? It has to be a BB data plan no matter what.

Thanks for the response. I have 2 working now but one that just does not connect unless its connected through usb. I have asked T-Mobile and they say he has a BIS and BES plan. I have tried Enterprise Activation on it as well and it still will not connect. I have noticed that under managing users, his model does not show up. The other 2 do.
