Default BES 4.0 for Exchange and cluster

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

We are planning to deploy BES 4.0 for Exchange. We have two Exchange 2003 clusters (with several backend servers each), multiple business organizations and smtp domains.

I have previously setup BES 4 with a single Exchange 2003 server. I have no experience with above scenario.

1. From licensing stand point is there any considerations I should be aware of? As far as I know, you can install CAL to the BES and then activate any user, regardless of their business organization/domain. All the users are visible under GAL, so activating them shouldn't be problem. Any thoughts?

2. Will BES 4.0 work fine with above scenario? (cluster, multiple orgs, etc)?

TIA,

Sems

I dont believe that there is any support for BES being clustered. Clustering of BES is coming in BES v5.

Doug,

I think you misunderstood me. Our Exchange 2003 Servers are clustered. BES will be a single (or multiple single) server, it will not be clustered
