Default BES Express 5.0.2 Warning - BlackBerry Controller - Event 20000

Please Login to Remove!

I'm getting several warnings in the Windows Application log when I reboot:

1) [CFG] Controller won't generate userdump files. userdump.exe or cdb.exe
were not found.

followed by this one a few seconds later

1) Could not connect to Service Control Manager at 127.0.0.1:1722

followed by these two back to back several seconds later:

1) Could not connect to Service Control Manager at 127.0.0.1:1722
2) Unable to connect to Dispatcher 'Server Name'

Everything appears to be working. I've looked through the BlackBerry Controller and Dispatcher logs and don't see anythign. The controller services appears to restart it's self a couple of more times before it finally starts. This seems to be only happing on reboot.

I'm running BESx 5.0.2 on an Exchange 2010/Windows 2008 R2 (x64) (single) server. SQL is on a seperate SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2 (x64) server.

I'm assuming that everything appears to be working - it's not a real issue, but the warnings in my eventlog are driving me nuts!

Any help is definately appreciated.

Hey Matt,

I'm having the same problem. I just got the server installed a couple weeks ago and haven't yet started putting users on it yet since I want to test things out first.

Just wondering if you came across anything that might have helped you out. From what i'm gathering, BESX or any BB product for that matter doesn't like IPv6 which of course is turned on by default in Server 2008 and in my case must be kept on for communication with certain network services I have.

I did find a couple of articles saying that IPv6 should be disabled, but again I can't disable those.

Just as you said, it's not a crucial issue but those event logs piling up drive me nuts!

I've tried disabling IPv6. There is a registry entry that you have to configure to completely disable IPv6. I also removed the entry from the Hosts file - but it didn't work. I've also made sure that IPv4 was first in the binding order.

So far, I'm still getting the message. I have to agree with you - it's getting annoying. I've got a handful of users on the server, and all seems to work fine. I'm thinking that one of the BES services is trying to start before things are ready. You can dig through the trace logs, which don't have anything useful, and see the service trys to start 3 or 4 times before it's successful. I just wished they would give us a way to supress it.
