Default Lost Blackberry - Can't activate new one

Please Login to Remove!

Help! One of our Doctors lost his blackberry in the river (it's gone), it was activated on BES 4.0. He decided he didn't want BES anymore so I deleted him off the BES 4.0. We are migrating existing blackberry's over to BES Express. I can't activate his new blackberry because it still thinks he's activated on the old BES - I can't wipe the old blackberry cause its in the river. Other than giving him a new email address and ideas? Thanks for any help I can get.

Welcome to the forums.

You will need to giver more information. What do you mean you can't activate? Where are you having the issue? What error do you get when you attempt to activate? Does the device have the proper Enterprise data plan?

You have to remove the Blackberry related information from his exchange mailbox.
If you cannot access the old server:
Create a new user account on the new server,
wait a few minutes,
delete the user account, and check the Delete all blackberry information checkbox.

after that, you should be able to activate the user.

If this does not help:
erase the new device,
export the users mailbox to a pst file
delete the user mailbox
create a new mailbox
import the pst into the new mailbox
create an account on the new BES
activate the user.

Where do I remove the Blackberry related information from his exchange mailbox - on the old BES server? I have deleted him and all mailbox info from the old BES server and have created the user on the new server. Are you saying after I created on the new server, delete the account on the new server, then create the user account again?

right, that worked for me:
erase the device,
create the user on the new server,
delete the user on the new server + delete all information from mailbox
create again,
try to activate the BB

I will try but I can't erase the device because its gone in the river somewhere. I will let you know when I can get his new blackberry to try this. Thanks for the help.
